About
Founded in 2024, the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI (WSAI) at IIT Madras brings together faculty with expertise in various areas of Data Science and AI to work on impactful problems of direct relevance to society. The school is home to the 18th and newest department (Department of Data Science and AI) at IIT Madras, with fifteen full-time faculty members. The school enables close collaboration between domain experts and AI researchers to develop solutions that integrate AI with existing approaches. It offers BTech in AI & Data Analytics, MTech in Data Science and AI, and multiple programs for international students. WSAI also houses several affiliated research centers including AI4Bharat, Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI), Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI), and others.

ClosedWadhwani School of Data Science and AI, IIT Madras Summer Internship 2026 The Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI at IIT Madras invites applications from eligible students for engaging summer internship opportunities. This is a national-level internship program offering hands-on experience working on cutting-edge discoveries with some of the last minds in the country in Data Science and AI. Program Details: - Internship Duration: Minimum 3 months to maximum 6 months (Starting April 2026) - Nature: In-person summer internship at IIT Madras, Chennai - Stipend: Interns will receive a stipend - Accommodation: Not provided (interns are responsible for their own accommodation) - Certificate: Bonafide certificate from your Institute required before appointment This internship program provides hands-on experience in cutting-edge areas of data science and artificial intelligence research and development. Interns will work closely with faculty and researchers on real-world projects contributing to India's growth in technology and innovation.
