NIUA seeks a Senior Research Associate- GIS for the Integrated Master Plan project focused on Strategic Development and Optimum Utilisation of Bettiah Raj lands. This 1 year renewable position is based in New Delhi with willingness to travel within India. The role requires expertise in geo-informatics tools, spatial data analysis, and GIS-based modeling to support Bihar's strategic land development initiatives. About NIUA: Established in 1976, the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is a premier institute of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, for research and capacity building for urban sector in India. Project Background: The Government of Bihar (Board of Revenue), through the Vesting of Bettiah Raj Properties Act—2024, owns significant land parcels (approximately 24,500 acres in Bihar and 143 acres in Uttar Pradesh), presenting a unique opportunity for strategic development and economic growth. NIUA will provide end-to-end support for the development of Bettiah Raj lands, including preparation of geo-spatial base maps, site profiling, baseline assessments, and formulation of zoning regulations.
