National Informatics Centre (NIC) is India's premier technology organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), serving as the technology partner of the Government of India. Established in 1976, NIC has been instrumental in steering e-Governance applications across government ministries and departments at Central, State, District, and Block levels. NIC's mandate encompasses designing and developing IT systems for government, providing ICT infrastructure, and exploring emerging technologies. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure including Multi-Gigabit PAN India Network (NICNET), National Knowledge Network, National Data Centres in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, and Bhubaneshwar, NIC hosts over 10,000 e-Governance applications. NIC has implemented numerous nationwide e-Governance projects including PFMS, eHospital, Vahan, Sarathi, eOffice, ePrisons, ServicePlus, IVFRT, PM KISAN, PRAYAS, and PARIVESH. With offices in all 36 states and union territories, supplemented by 741 district offices, NIC facilitates improvement in government services, wider transparency, and better efficiency and accountability to the people of India.

Digital India Internship Scheme for NIC (Winter 2025 Batch)

The Digital India Internship Scheme is a prestigious initiative by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. This comprehensive internship program offers students an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology domains while contributing to India's digital transformation journey. NIC, established in 1976, is the premier science and technology organization of the Government of India, providing integrated e-Government solutions at all levels. Through this internship program, students will work alongside experienced professionals on real-world projects that impact millions of citizens across the country. The Winter 2025 Batch internship spans a duration of 6 to 8 weeks, providing selected interns with immersive exposure to advanced technology implementations in government infrastructure. Interns will have the opportunity to work on projects across diverse technological domains including Blockchain Technology, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, DevOps, Cybersecurity, UI/UX Design, and Internet of Things (IoT). This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, enabling students to apply their theoretical knowledge to solve complex challenges in e-governance and digital public infrastructure. Interns will gain invaluable insights into how technology is leveraged to enhance government service delivery, improve citizen engagement, and drive innovation in the public sector. Selected candidates will work at NIC's state-of-the-art facilities in New Delhi, collaborating with domain experts and gaining exposure to India's most ambitious digital initiatives. The program emphasizes skill development, innovation, and contributing to projects that have direct social impact. Upon successful completion of the internship and submission of project reports, interns receive a certificate of completion from NIC, which adds significant value to their professional portfolio. This internship is ideal for students passionate about public technology, digital governance, and using their technical skills for nation-building.
