Focus areas
Visual & Motion Designer
Karya is looking for a graphic design–led motion designer who thinks in layouts, systems, and visual clarity first — and uses motion as a tool to enhance understanding and storytelling. This is not a videography or filming role. We’re looking for someone grounded in visual design, typography, composition, and information hierarchy, who can translate static ideas into clear, lightweight motion. You’ll work across two core areas: 1. Learning & Instructional Design: Motion-led training content for rural, multilingual, and first-time smartphone users 2. Brand & Storytelling: Explainers, motion systems, and visual narratives for partners, funders, and public-facing communication This role sits within the Storytelling Team and works closely with Product Design, Instructional Design, and Brand.
Entrepreneur in Residence - Karya X

Now, we are looking for a visionary builder to help us answer our next big moonshot: What are the next frontiers of dignified digital work that underserved communities can perform via a mobile phone, for which the global market is ready to pay fair and ethical wages? We aren't looking for a manager; we are looking for a founder-at-heart. As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will be given the resources, the infrastructure, and the mission-critical "problem statements" to experiment, fail fast, and eventually scale a new business vertical from scratch. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role designed for someone who thrives in the "chaos" of early-stage discovery. The ideal candidate would have previously founded a startup or were a member of the core founding team (first 5 employees) of a 0-to-1 venture. Instructional Designer - Learning and Curriculum
Karya is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Content team. In this role, you will design and develop innovative digital learning experiences tailored for adult learners with limited digital exposure. Your work will directly contribute to upskilling thousands of Karya workers in India and enabling their participation in the global AI workforce. You will be responsible for creating engaging, user-friendly learning content delivered via the Karya app. Working closely with UX teams, researchers, and technologists, you will translate complex tasks into clear, accessible instructional modules. The ideal candidate has a strong background in instructional design frameworks, and a passion for creating impact through digital education.
