ONDC is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and drive innovation across India's open network for digital commerce. As CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital commerce in India by building robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions that democratize e-commerce access for millions of merchants and consumers. The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is a pioneering initiative to create an open, inclusive, and equitable digital commerce ecosystem in India. By decentralizing e-commerce platforms and enabling seamless interoperability, ONDC empowers small businesses and merchants to participate in the digital economy on equal footing with large platforms.

• Vision and Technology Strategy: Define and drive ONDC's overall technology vision, roadmap, and strategic direction in alignment with organizational goals and India's digital commerce objectives • Network Architecture: Design and oversee the development of a robust, scalable, and secure open network architecture that supports interoperability across multiple platforms, ensuring seamless integration for all network participants • Product and Ecosystem Leadership: Guide the development and deployment of innovative digital commerce solutions, working closely with product teams to prioritize features that benefit the entire ecosystem - from small merchants to large enterprises • Data, Security & Governance: Establish comprehensive data governance frameworks, security protocols, and privacy standards to protect user data while enabling innovation and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, technology partners, network participants, and industry stakeholders to drive adoption and ensure alignment across the ecosystem • Leadership & Talent Development: Build, mentor, and scale a world-class technology team capable of executing on ambitious technical initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning

• 18+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with a proven track record in senior technology roles • Extensive experience in eCommerce platforms, digital marketplaces, or payments ecosystems • Deep expertise in building and scaling distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API-first platforms • Strong background in open-source technologies and open network protocols • Proven experience in digital marketplace infrastructure, payment systems, or multi-sided platform technologies • Demonstrated ability to lead large, distributed technology teams and manage complex technology initiatives • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience engaging government, private sector, and technology partners • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred)
