About this role

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is seeking a Design Lead (UI/UX) to conceptualize and deliver user-centered designs for large-scale digital transformation initiatives. The role involves designing responsive, accessible, and multilingual interfaces aligned with GIGW and WCAG standards. Candidate should possess strong skills in UX strategy, design system development, and leading design teams through concept, prototype, and implementation stages using modern frameworks and tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process, from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to usability, accessibility, and branding guidelines. Develop and maintain design systems, component libraries, and visual standards for web and mobile platforms. Create intuitive, multilingual, and gamified interfaces for diverse user groups, including athletes, federations, and administrators. Collaborate with business analysts and developers to translate requirements into wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. Ensure all designs comply with GIGW, WCAG, and STQC accessibility standards. Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback into iterative design improvements. Work closely with frontend teams (ReactJS, Next.js, Tailwind CSS) to ensure design consistency and performance optimization. Apply data-driven design principles using analytics tools to improve user engagement and experience. Leverage AI-powered design tools (e.g., Figma AI, ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Uizard) for faster prototyping and accessibility validation. Document design guidelines, workflows, and deliverables for seamless knowledge transfer. Stay updated with emerging trends in digital design, gamification, and interactive UX for large-scale citizen platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field. 6–8 years of experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile platforms. Prior experience in the IT domain within the sports sector, either in a government or corporate environment, is desired. Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Illustrator. Strong understanding of responsive design, information architecture, and user experience strategy. Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as ReactJS, Next.js, or Angular for design handoff. Knowledge of accessibility and compliance standards (GIGW 3.0, WCAG 2.1). Experience in design system creation, multilingual UX, and user testing. Ability to collaborate effectively with business, technical, and content teams in an Agile environment. Awareness of AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder presentation skills. Good to Have Certification: UX Certification, Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), or Adobe Certified Professional in UX Design. Domain Preference: Candidates with experience designing for sports technology platforms, athlete management systems, or digital ecosystems with gamified UX will be preferred.
