NCAER is looking for a Research Associate under its National Data Innovation Centre to build your career while contributing to rigorous, data-driven, evidence-based economic policy research in India.

The RA will work on areas linked to human development, including health, education, mobility, gender, employment, equity, and social protection. Main responsibilities include conducting review of relevant literature, analysis of both primary and secondary data using advanced statistical methods, and preparation of reports and data/policy briefs.

Basic Qualifications 1. Candidate should have at least a Master’s degree in Economics/Demography/Statistics from a reputed Institute or University in India or abroad. 2. Prior courses or work experience in applied statistics/econometrics. 3. Familiarity with available socio-economic databases in India. Knowledge of statistical software: Advanced knowledge of Stata. Desirable Qualification 1. Some work experience as a junior economic analyst/ research assistant, preferably in a research organization will be an added plus, though it is not mandatory. 2. Ability to work with large datasets, strong foundation in econometric techniques and data analysis. 3. Good drafting skills and prior experience in writing research reports/papers. 4. Prior knowledge of working in GIS and other mapping software.
